Maybe you can quickly introduce yourself for people who don't know you ?

Hello All! My name is Roberto Bergersen I am 39 yrs old. I am from Tacoma, WA but now reside in Boise, ID. I am married to Rhonda Bergersen and have 3 wonderful boys named Rylan, Rayzhon, & Dijon's own Ryzin as he was born right in your town and he is very proud of that!

How you doing today ? What's up in you life ?

My family and I are wonderful. My wife and I run a basketball academy for the youth in Boise and have been quite successful helping players from our community move on to college to further their education and play hoops! We also work in the local school district. My oldest son Rylan will be graduating from HS next year and is looking forward to playing NCAA basketball. My other two love hoops also and are great students in school.

You played for JDA in 2000 and 2002. Do you remember some of your teammates? Are you still in touch with some of them ?

Actually I played for JDA in 2000 & again in 2002. I do remember my teammates from that team very well! After JDA I played all over Europe in Italy, Spain, Turkey, Belguim, and also in South Korea. I also played in the NBA D-League.

Do you have a look sometimes at JDA's results ?

Yes i do keep up w/ JDA quite a bit. Watching Eurobasket or looking at the team site for info! It was my fist team to play for in Europe and i have very fond memories of the team and especially supporters there!

Since you stopped your sport carreer, what have you done?

My focus after I stopped playing was to teach young kids especially basketball players how to live and succeed in their sport while be happy, healthy, and productive.  I am in charge of a Youth Basketball Academy where we teach kids to better themselves in all aspects of their lives while using basketball as the tool to do so.

How old are you did you start playing basketball? When did you discover that you could make it your job?

Played all my life as far as I can remember. First organized team was 13 years old. I discovered it could be a profession for me 3rd year in college at age 20 I received interest from professional teams.

And if you havn't been a professional basketball player, what would you have liked to do?

If I wasn't a basketball player I would have liked to be a Teacher.

Do you put on your sneakers again to play bball ?

Not really. I only play sometimes with my kids.

Which memories do you keep from your JDA seasons ?

What I member the most is how amazing the supporters were! I really miss the fans and that energy they brought to the games! I also remember the fun we had at practice, bus trips, etc..
